OZZY OSBOURNE Talks 'Scream', Getting Sober And Why LADY GAGA Is So Great
June 18, 2010ITN Music's Amped recently conducted an interview with legendary heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne. The chat can now be viewed below.
Ahead of the June 22 release of his new album, "Scream", via Epic Records, Ozzy will once again take over the Sunset Strip with two record-release events Sunday, June 20. That afternoon, the rock icon will host an in-store signing at Amoeba Music on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, California. Later that night, some lucky fans will join Ozzy for a private record-release playback and rare club performance down Sunset Blvd. at the House Of Blues.
Ozzy will sign copies of his new "Scream" CD at Amoeba from 5 to 8 p.m. and the first 600 fans in line who purchase a copy will also receive a free ticket to that night's 10 p.m. House of Blues performance.
Please note: The in-store signing is limited to the first 800 fans and there are no lineups prior to 3 p.m.
"Scream" will be released on June 22 in North America via Epic Records. It will be issued in Japan on June 23 with the exclusive bonus track "Jump The Moon". A special iTunes pre-order is available which includes the bonus track, "One More Time". Once the album is released, the song will be unavailable.
"Scream" was produced by Ozzy and Kevin Churko, both of whom did the same honors for Ozzy's 2007 worldwide million-seller "Black Rain".
OZZY OSBOURNE filmed a video for his new single, "Let Me Hear You Scream", last month with renowned Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund, who has previously worked with METALLICA, SATYRICON, RAMMSTEIN, MADONNA and THE PRODIGY, among others. According to RollingStone.com, fans should expect the clip to be "an over-the-top spectacle . . . replete with fake blood and giant injectable needles."
"Let Me Hear You Scream" had its world premiere, during a prison riot scene, on "CSI: NY" on April 14 on the CBS television network.
The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer recorded most of "Scream" at his Los Angeles home studio, The Bunker, and co-wrote all the songs, primarily with Churko. Notably, the album marks the first appearance of Ozzy's new guitar player, Gus G. (FIREWIND, ex-DREAM EVIL, ARCH ENEMY). Ozzy's band also features bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson, drummer Tommy Clufetos (ex-ROB ZOMBIE, ALICE COOPER) and keyboardist Adam Wakeman.
